Peggy passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Alliston on Saturday December 22, 2018. Beloved mother of the late Anthony Charles Sykes (Karen Tyson) and Helen Sykes (Steve Cumberland). Loving Nana to Wade Sykes Cumberland, the late Jaida Maeve Cumberland, David Anthony Sykes and Stephanie Dobbs. Sister of Sheila Pearson (Alan). Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Dinah Wilson. Peggy touched the lives of many through her incredible art and teaching talents. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for all of the companionship and care she received over the years. Peggy's nephew Ian Pearson and his wife Charlene stayed by her side and supported her daughter throughout her final days, and for that we are eternally grateful.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held in the spring of 2019. Details to follow in March, 2019.
If desired, donations can be made in Peggy's honour to her granddaughter's memorial charity, Jaida's Challenge, C/O CLASS, 125 Dufferin Street South, Alliston, ON L9R 1E9. Please make the cheque payable to CLASS with Jaida's Challenge written on the memo line.

I have never met Peggy, but I have had the pleasure of enjoying her art for 30 years. I'm sorry for your loss. The world will be a little "less" without her wonderful talent. I bought her beautiful painting called "Nottawasga River in Winter" in 1989. At the time I lived in Brampton and I had no idea that in 2010 I would move to Wasaga Beach on the Nottawasaga Bay. I now often, drive by the exact view in my painting. I like to think that she painted it especially for me. So, on behalf of all the people like myself, who never met her or yourself, we are grateful for this small view into Peggy's life. Thank you
