Obituary for James William "Jim" Barrett

Print
Jim Barrett
June 29, 1940 - January 15, 2019

Longtime employee of Bell Canada.

Passed January 15th after a brief but aggressive skirmish with metastasized
cancer. Survived by his wife and best friend Annie, proud father of Jimmy,
Sandra (Anthony) and Scott (Angela) and really proud Grampie of Michael,
Andrew, Nathan and Rachel. Leaves behind his brother Gerry (Ziana) of
Vancouver, brother in law Danny (Nicole) of Montreal and the mother of his
children, Lorraine (Tom).

Jim was a longtime employee of Bell Canada and began his 37 year career with
the company at Bell Northern in Verdun QC. He was a diehard Habs fan, loved
NFL football, had been a proficient skier, curler, golfer, racquetball
player and adored his cars. Jim loved to cook and entertain and his favorite
beverages included beer, Bloody Caesars and rum & cokes. After his four
legged best friend Clancy died, he and Annie began putting a dent in their
bucket list in recent years including a trip to the Kentucky Derby, a number
of cruises and hockey excursions to New York and Chicago. The last 18 years
were enjoyed in the Briar Hill Community in Alliston.

At Jim's very specific request, there will be no funeral and a gathering of
immediate family only will be held in the near future.
