Harry Anthony Carroll passed away suddenly on Easter Sunday, April 21st. in North Carolina, while driving home from a week of golfing in Mrytle Beach with his wife, Gladys and two good friends.
He was born in Bronx, New York on February 16th., 1943 and lived a full life.
He had a very successful career as Manager at Simpson Company, then went on to become a Coach and own his own company, Leadership Advantage. After retiring, he found golf and chasing his grandchildren wasn’t enough to keep him busy, so he spent the last 7 years working in the Produce department at Walmart. This kept him fit and connected to the community.
He will be missed by Gladys, his wife of 23 years, his daughter Michelle (Sean), son Scott (Vicky), and step-son Stephen (April). He had 3 sisters, Mary, Monica and Margaret who were shocked to hear of his passing. He had 5 grandchildren, Olivia, Spencer, Riley, with one grandson soon to join the family, as well as step-granddaughters Alexis and Cassie. His loving friend and wife of 23 years, Gladys Carroll, will miss having him around and being able to travel, golf and have fellowship with him.
Harry had a sense of humour, was called “Singing Papa”, enjoyed his golf, and the activities at Green Briar. He was very spiritual and along with his wife and best friends, Dwight and Vivian, he attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Barrie regularly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Green Briar Community Centre, 35 Parkette Drive, Alliston, Ontario on Saturday, May 18th between 1:00 p.m. - 4 :00 p.m. for sharing memories and a small spiritual service.
