Obituary

HANNA, Elizabeth Anne
A lovely lady died today. She was the essence of LOVE:
love of God and church; love of Jack; love of family and friends.
Peacefully and surrounded by the love of her entire family, Elizabeth Hanna passed away on Tuesday, May 21st at Matthew’s House Hospice in her 87th year.
Beloved wife for 64 years of the late Jack Hanna. Survived by her children, Marg Alderson (Ron) of Vineland, Nancy McDowell (Ian) of Tillsonburg, Marianne Hare (Steve) of Creemore, and Dave Hanna (Jenn) of North Vancouver. Proud Nana of Lindsay (Ryan), Tyler (Rita), Becky (Eric), Rob (Kristin), Katelyn (Brandon), Jonathan, Chris (Roxy), Dexter and Mason. “Gigi” to Gavin and Mia. Also survived by her sister Margaret Prudence of Bridgewater N.S. and sister in law Mary Trillo of Collingwood and many nieces and nephews, some of whom affectionately knew her as Good Ol’ Aunt Libby. Mom was raised in Nova Scotia, but spent most of her married life in Alliston. Her pride and joy was her family and she delighted in making memorable moments for all her family and friends. She volunteered in many ways in the community: St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Hospital Auxillary, Kinette Club, Choral Society, Brownies and Girl Guides.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 125 Wellington St. W., Alliston on Saturday June 1, at 2:30 p.m. Reception following at Drury Funeral Centre, 519 Victoria St. E, Alliston.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations (if desired) may be made to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church or Matthew’s House Hospice.

To all the family of Jack and Liz Hanna.....my heartfelt condolences for the loss of both your parents. They were wonderful people and it was a pleasure to know them and contribute to the care of their oral health. We shared some great stories and many laughs over the years. They will be greatly missed. God bless you all! Love Debbie Nixon ( their dental hygienist)

Jack and Liz were the best neighbours one could ever hope to have. I could not imagine seeing one without the other very close by. They were both very gentle loving souls that I am grateful to have known. I will dearly miss seeing their smiling faces. Blessings to your family.
