Lawrence Lindsay

Lawrence passed away in peace with his loving family by his side on Friday, February 7, 2020 at McCormick Home in London. He was born on May 27th, 1930 in Orangeville, Ontario, predeceased by his parents Clifford and Erland Lindsay.
Lawrence was the ever loving husband of Helen (Nee Kittmer) since May 16, 1964. He was the caring brother of his younger sister Monica. And he was devoted father to his five children Carolyn, Jean, Paul, Allan and Sarah, and endearing grandpa to his 12 grandchildren.
Lawrence will be sadly missed by his family, friends and the many in the community who knew him through his life-long passion and gifts for teaching and performing instrumental and vocal musical arts.
Thank you for sharing your music with us Lawrence

Lawrence taught piano to my son, Simon, briefly. I didn't know him well, however, I hold him in high regard. He was truly a kind and thoughtful man. Our family will remember him fondly.

Lawrence was my teacher from grade 1 to grade 6 at Springview public school near Singhampton, I credit him with my love of learning as he gave me a solid foundation on which to build. He made school fun and drove our softball team all over the country to games. He loved to play the piano and always accompanied us for our Christmas concerts. It is a fact that you always remember the really good teachers and I consider him one of the best. Rest in peace Lawrence.

I am saddened to hear of Mr. Lindsays passing. I wish I could pay my respects. My name is Chris Jansen and I was one of his organ students in the early ‘90’s. Mr. Lindsay also encouraged me to sing with in a’Capella group in one of his concerts that he organized. At that time I wasn’t very appreciative of singing. Later in my life I joined a barbershop chorus, every time I preform I remember singing for Mr. Lindsay that one time. I don’t play the organ anymore but I do remember taking lessons on the pipe organ in his house. It was an experience that I’ll never forget! Mr. Lindsay had a great influence in my life and he will be greatly missed. Praying for the family, God bless you in your time of grief.
