Richard (Dick) Snodgrass

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Richard on May 1, 2020 from complications of the Covid 19 Virus.
Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Donna Ellis, son James, stepson Gord (Carolyn), stepdaughter Terri (Nick), grandchildren Jennifer, Nikita, Christopher, great-granddaughter Kristyn and mother-in-law Myrtle.
Richard's professional life spanned 40 years, first as a C.A. at Price Waterhouse and later with the Ontario Government Revenue Department.
He loved the last 26 years of his retirement in Greenbriar and Briarhill Communities. His hobbies were golf, skiing and traveling with Donna during those years.
In memory of Richard memorial donations to Matthews House Hospice, Alliston would be appreciated by the family.
As these difficult times don't allow for a funeral service a memorial gather will be held in the future.

The passing of Richard Snodgrass has saddened the lives of many. It is with profound sorrow that we extend our deepest sympathy to Donna, and all his extended families. Dick, as we affectionately called him, was a gentleman, a scholar, and an exceptionally good golfer. We will cherish the wonderful memories we have accumulated over the 27 years we have been friends. We will miss' his and Donna's annual visit to our Lake Home in Minden, the many golf outings, the many chats where Dick showcased his amazing knowledge of sports, current affairs and global issues. Our lives have been enriched by the time spent with Richard Snodgrass, and the knowledge he shared with us. May his soul rest in peace.
"The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops, yet echoes on in sweet, soulful refrains. For every joy that passes, something beautiful remains."
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families.
Lovingly, Sommerville & Maxene Henry

So sorry to hear of Richard's passing and my sincere condolences to Donna and all his family and friends. I will miss Richard, an intrepid former member of the High Park Ski Club, cross country ski section. He was a delightful, kind, witty gentleman and much loved and appreciated by his wife my friend, Donna, and countless others. I had the pleasure of attending their wedding 28 years ago at the Guild Inn in Toronto. What a joyful occasion it was! I also had many opportunities over the years to spend some quality time with Richard and Donna at their lovely cottage, to visit them at Greenbriar Village and to travel with them on one amazing bus trip, in particular, to Cape Cod. Although I I am most saddened by Richard's passing and realise how much he will be missed, I know that he lived his life to the fullest and always with kindness, courtesy and dignity. Bon courage, Donna; you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Richard was a wonderful, kind and caring person...a true gentleman. I shall remember the great times with him at our many dinners, golf games, and New Year's Eve parties. My deepest sympathy. Take care.
