Passed away peacefully at home in Utopia surrounded by family on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 66 years. Les was born August 16, 1954 in Terrace, BC.
He leaves behind his loving wife Lynn (nee Patchett), daughter Victoria (Mario Bianchi) and son Daniel (Brittany). Cherished Popop to Isabel, Emma and Ainsleigh. Predeceased by mother Marie (Shields) and brothers Steven and Rick. Youngest son of William Scotton. Cherished brother to Sherry (Denis) Beech and Joanne. Beloved son-in-law to Lavoine Patchett and brother-in-law to Alan and Melissa Patchett, Pam and John Rougoor and Brad Patchett. Will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends in Canada, Australia, Barbados and Brazil.
Les was always seeking out a new challenge, both in business and with personal endeavours. He wore many hats over his lifetime; logger, commercial fisherman, heavy machine operator, home builder, grazier, businessman, entrepreneur, inventor, creator, woodworker and most recently, artist.
Above all else, Les was humble, unselfish and he deeply valued honesty and integrity. His family and friends will remember the lessons he taught, the advice he offered, and the great man he continuously strived to be.
Cremation has taken place. No service planned at this time. If desired donations in Les’s memory may be made to your local hospice or by planting a tree.
